About

Why Lumen exists

I was tired of focus apps that demanded my attention to remind me to focus. Lumen sits quietly in the menu bar, gives you a single click to start a session, and disappears when you don't need it.

How it's built

Lumen is a native SwiftUI app for macOS 14+. It uses MenuBarExtra for its lightweight surface, Combine for state management, and CloudKit (coming soon) for sync. No analytics, no telemetry — your focus data never leaves the device.

Design principles

  • Quiet by default — the timer never interrupts what you're doing.
  • One click to start — friction kills focus.
  • No accounts — open the app, you're done.
