Privacy Policy

patolabs (“we”, “us”) builds software for iOS, macOS, and the web. We believe privacy is a feature, not a trade-off. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and the controls you have. It applies to every app and site we publish under the patolabs brand.
1. Data we collect
Our apps are designed to work without accounts where possible. When data is collected, it falls into one of the following categories:
- Content you create. Notes, files, settings, and other content you enter in the app. This is stored locally on your device by default and, when you enable it, synced through Apple iCloud using your own Apple ID. We do not have access to this content.
- Purchase data. In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive a transaction identifier and entitlement status from Apple to unlock features; we do not receive your payment card, billing address, or full Apple ID.
- Diagnostics. If you opt in to sharing analytics with app developers in iOS / macOS Settings, Apple forwards aggregated, anonymized crash and usage reports to us. These reports are not linked to your identity.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep the message and any information you share in it so we can reply and track the issue.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera unless a feature you activate specifically requires it. When it does, iOS or macOS will ask for your explicit permission first.
2. How we use data
We use the limited data we receive to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the apps.
- Validate in-app purchases and deliver the features you paid for.
- Diagnose crashes, bugs, and performance issues.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your content to train machine-learning models. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-app tracking inside our apps.
3. Third-party services
We try to keep the dependency list short. The services we currently use on your behalf are:
- Apple (App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, TestFlight). Distribution, payments, optional sync, and beta testing. See Apple’s privacy policy.
If a specific app uses additional services (for example, a transactional email provider for account-based apps), the App Store privacy label and the app’s own in-app disclosure will list them before you download or sign up.
4. Data retention
Content you create stays on your device (and in your iCloud) for as long as you keep it there. Diagnostics and crash reports are retained for up to 12 months. Support emails are retained for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA, and similar frameworks), you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@patolabs.dev. We reply within 30 days.
6. Children
Our apps are rated 4+ but are not designed for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared data with us, contact us and we will delete it.
7. International transfers
patolabs is operated from France. If you use our apps outside of the EEA, your limited diagnostics and support data may be transferred to and processed in France or in Apple data centers Apple uses to operate the App Store. We rely on Apple’s contractual safeguards and, where applicable, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Security
We encrypt data in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Purchase validation happens server-to-server with Apple. We review access to support mailboxes on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you and the relevant authority if a breach affects your personal data.
9. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy materially, we will update the effective date at the top and, for registered users, notify you through the app or by email at least 14 days in advance.
